EPPING FOREST OUTDOOR GROUP
From the journey to Cape Clear Island on Tuesday, we went into Wednesday 29th August at a quieter pace, visiting Clonakilty and the Lisselan Gardens in the morning and finding out about Michael Collins - one of the greatest military and political leaders in Irish History - in the afternoon.

Returning to Baltimore, we drove a short distance to find a restaurant to satiate our hunger. So close to the sea, seafood was high on the menu, and enjoyed by a few of us. For others - with more select dietary requirements - as often there was less to choose. But there was a ceilidh in the bar later, and we all participated in Murphy's or some other tipple. A good band, with tunes that some of us were familiar with and music that we all enjoyed. An impromptu dance started up - jigs, reels and polkas, and we were invited to join in. Bad EFOG - we were either too embarrassed or (at least in one case) too unsteady on our feet to accept!

the fiddleress The following day, the Wednesday, was actually the most cloudy. It started off OK, and we visited the Lisselan Gardens at Clonakilty - butterflies and honey-bees in abundance proves the sun. But from there we went on to the museum/exhibition at the Michael Collins Centre a few miles away. Perhaps reflecting the subject matter, the sky became overcast and it became slightly chilly.
