EPPING FOREST OUTDOOR GROUP

At the end of September 2007 a small group of EFOG members - plus a couple of dogs - spent a few days camping in Norfolk at East Runton near Cromer. The weather gave rise to difficulties just setting up the tents, with rain and very strong winds blowing off the sea and straight into the campsite. One of the tent poles didn't like it, which lead to a hasty retreat to a local hostelry - namely a hotel! However, the following day we returned to the campsite and managed to erect 3 tents - the wind having subsided a bit. An exhausted car battery, lost valuables, lights that didn't work, a sick dog and a fractured arm were some other aspects of an eventful camping trip.

...later - repairing the tent pole...
27th September 2007. After the hotel of the night before - the first full day of the camping trip! ...
...one of the tents is up, Steve the dog is getting bored - but the sun is out!
...the second tent is up - and it's raining again...
...but at last all three tents are up - and it's tea-time!

now the air-bed is leaking...cycle-tyre repair skills came in useful here!
