April/June Wildlife Report from Pete Saunders

I expect you noticed the rather wet late Spring/early Summer we had – for this reason I have noted some of the more diverse temperatures and weather conditions.  However this gave us one of the most beautiful Spring’s I think I have ever witnessed, and our lakes could certainly have done with the extra water.  On 11 April the water pump into the Heronry was on, but I noticed on 21 April that it was off and was informed by a member of the City of London staff that this was due to concern that the water birds’ nests may become flooded(?).
