This wonderfully coloured fungus Stropharia aeruginosa, was noticed by Jennifer Charter near to Bullet Hill in the Northumberland Avenue Strip. It was growing in an area where wood-chippings had been left from tree-surgery work earlier in the year.

I do not have any records of this species from the area before, but was told by Tricia Moxey that it had been doing well in other parts of Epping Forest this year.
