This tiny ant - about 2mm in length - was seen and photographed in Roger Snook's home in Woodcote Road, Wanstead.

It was posted on iSpot for identification as a possible Pharaoh Ant, and this was confirmed. However, the ant seems to have spines at the rear of its thorax, which Pharaoh Ants do not. Only in 2021 did I come across Leptothorax acervorum, and this seems a more likely identification.
