This bee was digging in the sandy soil by Alexandra Lake, Wanstead Flats, and I believe it is Andrena nitida.

Andrena thoracica looks similar and is described as being attracted to sandy soils such as this, whereas A. nitida is more associated with grassland, but even so, I think it is A. nitida.
