The spread of Alexanders by Wanstead Flats has been quite remarkable. From small patches by Lake House Road in the early 2000s, it has spread along the pavement edge of much of that road, into Dames Road, and - as here - well down Centre Road by 2005.

By 2015 the plant was present at the west end of Capel Road, and in 2016 a large patch was noted away from the roadside edge at the eastern side of the Heatherwood Close enclosure, in the wood near to the old changing rooms

By the spring of 2022 it was present along Aldersbrook towards the east of Heatherwood Close, particularly east of the entrance to the car park by Alexandra Lake.
