Sometimes known as the Rabbit Hutch Spider, as that is where they are often found, but more often in recent years as a "False Widow Spider", particularly after a series of "scare" articles in newspapers relating to this and other Steatoda species.

It is often found around buildings, and I have frequently found it in my garden.
