This specimen was found in moss adjacent to the Alexandra Lake.

It is a common species in Britain, and may be found in hedgerows, grassland and gardens. However, there is another species Enoplognatha latimana with which it may be confused unless examined in detail. E. latimana tends to be found in coastal habitats, but in the east of England this may not be the case, and sometimes the two species may be living close to each other.
